After graduating with a bachelors degree in environmental science, Michael joined the Peace Corps and lived in the Fiji Islands for 27 months, working with local villages and NGOs to improve the management of their natural resources. It was there he learned that his passion was working with people to find ways to better the health of their own bodies and the planet.
Returning from Fiji, he moved to Venice, California, to study yoga and healing arts with massage therapy, traditional shiatsu, and craniosacral therapy. He met many mentors and continued his education with the Yoga Therapy Rx program at LMU with Dr. Larry Payne. Michael then went on to complete a Master's of Science in Biomedical Science from Regis University in Denver, CO.
He graduated medical school from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed family medicine residency program at UCLA affiliated hospital in Northridge, CA.
